Australian/NY-based pianist, composer, and producer Nick Marks returns with his latest EP, happy place, and it sounds exactly like its name suggests: sunny, groovy, and true to his signature cinematic jazztronica sound. Across the project, ear-catching hooks, lush jazz harmonies, expansive arrangements, electronic textures, and hard-hitting beats come together with effortless flow.

The EP also brings together an incredible cast of collaborators, including horn players Andrew Gould, Dave Levy, Chris Ott, and Stefan Haerle, flautist Sarpay Ozcagatay, guitarist Dave Rosenthal, violinist Lavinia Pavlish, vocalist Arta Jēkabsone, and The Untold Orchestra. Each adds another layer of colour and personality to Nick’s richly detailed musical world.

If you’ve been following Stereofox for a while, you’ll know we’ve been fans of Nick’s music for some time. His tracks can make even the greyest days feel a little brighter. Give happy place a listen – it might become your favourite summer soundtrack.
