Ever since Lu featured UK-based 4-piece Yuuf back in April, I’ve been on the lookout for their sophomore EP Alma’s Cove. Let me tell you this, they did not disappoint.
This lush collection of global sounds feels like a trip on mushrooms while flying through the most exotic places in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Yuuf describe their sound as Global Psychedelia – a rich fusion of West and Central African rhythms, psych-rock, Thai music, Mexican cumbia, even ambient Americana, and dreamy textures inspired by Ghibli soundtracks and the classical guitar traditions of Spain.
The 4-piece met while studying in Brighton, but eventually moved to London, where they currently reside and create music that simply feels next level, especially if you love artists like Khruangbin, Salin, Glass Beams, Yin Yin, or Dengue Fever.
A perfect addition to our psychedelic playlist (if you look for more of this).
