Do you remember Yusuf Yellow, the Leeds rapper we last featured in 2023?
Well, he’s back with some new fire and re-branding – now known as Yung Yusuf. The London-based Jaffa hip-hop artist teamed up with Beirut-born singer Sunkissed Child for the beautiful r&b-meets-hip-hop single “Are you okay?”.
The track delves into the emotional weight of having loved ones in war-torn regions, reflecting the constant worry and need to check in on their safety. The artists channel this reality through soulful melodies and raw, introspective lyrics. Both soothing & somewhat daunting, the song also captures themes of love, concern, and the longing for reassurance, painting a portrait of the emotional toll of such uncertain times.
