As someone who’s been a big fan of SWIM for years, Dear Friend was at the top of my must-hear list this year. Safe to say, it blew my expectations out of the water.

In many ways, his sophomore album Dear Friend feels like an enriched part two of his debut EP Years On Years. His trademark melancholic club sound is still very much present – and honestly, it feels sharpened and elevated thanks to his growth as a producer and his experience performing around the world. One of the standout tracks on Dear Friend is “Run Away”, a breakbeat-influenced journey brought to life by a simple melodic progression and a driving vocal presence. The luminous leads sitting at the forefront add a radiant energy to the mix, especially towards the closing moments for a euphoric finale!
