It’s so awesome to randomly stumble across an artist you’ve completely forgotten about.
Stimulus appeared on the Stereofox feed all the way back in 2018 on “Sunday“. The Brooklyn-born, now Berlin-based rapper took a hiatus from 2021 until 2024, and today he lands again in our ears with his new single “woKe”.
Produced by Jay Versace with a flip by K, Le Maestro, the tune explores an alternative point of view of the current world we live in. He elaborates, “We are very much in a “WOKE” era where it is important to be aware of political and social issues and be sensitive to the needs, wants, and causes of lots of different groups & tribes. It is popular for people to flaunt how “woke” they are and show off how socially responsible and sensitive they are. In the song, I admit all of the ways in which I am not “woke”.
Supported by warm keys and a punchy, yet groovy beat, Stimulus delivers an effortless & smooth flow.
