Hailing from Lu‘s home, Cape Town, Sacred Union is a duo that dwells in the creative border of indie and downtempo electronica. Driven by their mission to create lush and atmospheric ambiance using hand pan sounds and gentle synths, Grethe and Levi’s sound is perfect for anyone who loves the art of artists like Maribou State, Bonobo, and London Grammar.
“Home” marks their first release since their 2023 debut “Before Your Light” and explores themes of connection, belonging, and inner stillness. It kicks off like the perfect soundtrack to a sunset meditation session, floating calmly on a Standup Paddleboard at a calm sea. Then, out of nowhere, a light-hearted guitar riff sneaks in. It does sound playful and weirdly flirtatious, and suddenly you’re in indie territory. That blend of tranquility and character really shows the depth of their sound, and honestly, it pulled me in even more. Excited about the future of these guys.
