Mk.gee’s Two Star & the Dream Police is arguably one of the most influential bodies of work to come out in the world of indie in recent times as it’s inspired countless musicians with its signature sound.

My first encounter with the U.S.-based artist was through his 2018 EP Fool, and since then his career along with his style has taken quite a turn to say the least. One of the brightest gems from Two Star & the Dream Police is “How many miles” – a track that embodies his dark and moody sonic universe albeit with a sweet and catchy touch to it thanks to the subtle r&b influence. The vocal delivery is passionate while he explores themes of anxiety and longing throughout his lyricism, and this combination of passionate yet somber offers a sense of solace for listeners.
