Lex Amor is the type of artist who constantly keeps us guessing, as her releases are always unpredictable. Her latest track, “SHINE IN,” is a brilliant example of this versatility.

North London-based rapper, DJ, and producer, Lex Amor has been teasing numerous singles leading up to her sophomore album Forward Ever coming out on Friday. “SHINE IN” puts her production alongside Lo-Wu in the forefront as she showcases a forward-thinking brand of r&b embellished with alien-like synth textures and distant guitars. In her brief verses, her vocals are performed in a blasé manner and we can tell it’s more so about the dejected delivery than the words themselves that evoke a sense of emotion. This is definitely different from a bulk of the music I’ve heard this week and I love that it’s a track that’s tough to pigeonhole.
