I love this tendency that traditionally smooth r&b acts turn to their groovy side – i.e. see what Reuben James did on his latest album.
The UK singer JONES took a similar twist with her latest EP In The Moment (which includes the previously released title track, one of the freshest, feel-good tunes I’ve heard in a while). The project explores “heartbreak, joy, and presence, inviting listeners into a serene, uplifting space,“ and wonderfully captures her “melancholic optimism” sound.
The focus tune “Moonlight” will take you on a nostalgic trip, blending disco synths & funky grooves with warm neo-soul vocals – but the full EP is a must-hear, trust me.
