With his newest release “Ciel Bleu”, Joe Hertz leaves the audience astounded by how he seamlessly blurs the lines between electronic music and jazz.
We’ve been covering the work of the UK-based producer Joe Hertz since 2016, and watching his evolution as an artist has been incredible. “Ciel Bleu” deeply taps into a plethora of emotions with its soulful essence, easily making it one of my favorite releases from Joe. I loved the vibrance offered by the rhythm section as it’s embellished with colorful percussive textures that complement the odd, off-kilter groove. The presence of the plucks and harps in the foreground gives the track a musical elegance to it, and this is paired with the cries of a saxophone for a brief moment – making “Ciel Bleu” saunter between warm and melancholic.
