On his latest release “New Day,” Jay Prince has tastefully blended hip hop, r&b, and soul to create a track brimming with optimism and stellar musicality.
Born in East London to both Angolan and Congolese parents, Jay’s musical journey began in the church, where he mastered the piano, bass, and guitar. On “New Day” he not only showcases his flair as a rapper, but also as a vocalist. The track is fleshed out by dreamy, comforting keys and glittery synths to give the track an edge. However it’s really the vocals that breathe life into the track as his vocal delivery encapsulates the message that there are always new days ahead regardless of the struggle.
Through his poetic lyrics Jay reminds us that no matter how heavy the burden, there are always new days ahead—new opportunities to rise, heal, and move forward. ‘New Day’ symbolizes renewal: a chance to rebuild confidence in yourself, and refuse to let setbacks hold you down. The euphoric production produced by Ken Samson, perfectly captures the feeling of optimism.
