It’s always great to hear new ways to imagine jazz music.
UK singer Indira May shares this wonderful psychedelic blend of soul, jazz, trip-hop, dub & alt-pop, called “STOP”. The enchanting piece pours vulnerability and raw emotion, fueled by Indira’s airy vocals and mesmerizing, dub-influenced rhythm & horns.
“STOP” is the middle song of Indira May’s sophomore EP Imaginary Problems – 5 songs ranging from upbeat to ballads, with a lot of groove in the middle. The honest tunes explore topics like personal struggles with chronic illness (“childsplay”), the complexity of addiction (“you & charlie”), emotional vulnerability (“STOP”), playful and carefree moments (“dance tonight”), and a sense of mystery and allure (“don’t feed the sharks”).
