If you’ve been missing some hazy r&b in your life, here’s something wonderful from a true dream team.
Frequent collaborators – producer Gena & singer Y A N A, teamed up with Berlin bass player NRAW (aka Vik Velinov) for “Chain Reaction”. A natural continuation of their last single “Back Seat” but with a lower tempo & a spacier sound, the new tune explores the interconnection of things and how the little changes can make a huge difference.
Y A N A elaborates, “I’ve been doing lots of self-reflection lately and connecting dots, finding out that the smallest most insignificant things were in fact not as little as I thought. Everything is so connected, it’s crazy. People, paths, thoughts, situations. That made me feel numb at times, wondering what my life would’ve been if I hadn’t done this or that.”
Her honey vocals, swinging between soulful singing and rapping, are floating on top of woozy guitars & synths, slow drum groove & an amazing flute solo in the second half.
