Two of my favorite forces from the underground, DJ BORING and SWIM, come together on a track that’s both melancholic and full of drive.
In the late 2010s, DJ BORING made his mark as a breakout star of the lofi house scene. Since then, he’s shed those confines, reshaping himself into a versatile figure in the electronic underground. His latest release, “Stay With Me,” featuring SWIM (my most cherished discovery of 2022), blends both their signature aesthetics to offer an atmospheric yet energetic listening experience that sounds like sadness on the dance floor. The synths are bright, the drums hit hard, and the vocal sample adds a charming, emotive allure throughout the track.
