We’ve been blessed to follow the journey of CROOKS INC. from its inception, and it’s so inspiring to see the growth of the London-based 6-piece and everything they’ve achieved so far.
Aghgul, Daniel, Jajob, Mia, Tom, and Zachary have burst onto the UK jazz scene with a proper impact, from landing Fresh Finds billboards across London, filling out packed rooms at The Great Escape and the London Jazz Festival, and also supporting Nao Yoshioka. As someone who has paid close attention to them since day one, I feel they’ve quickly established themselves as the most exciting new jazz collective of the moment.
Today we celebrate their debut long-awaited EP Kismet with a spotlight on one of the gems on it – a soul-meets-jazz gem called “Change”. I love the dynamic interplay between the cheeky instrumental and the vocals, a playful energy that sets the perfect Friday mood.
