I’ve always had deep respect for beatmakers who dare to challenge the status quo of a genre—those unafraid to push boundaries, confront their listeners, and create entirely new experiences, regardless of what’s considered trendy or hot at the moment.
This is exactly what our label mates (and good real-life friends) – Claptu & Beatmund Noise have done with their new EP Neo. We’re truly honoured that they entrusted us with such a special sound, which feels like a breath of fresh air. I would like to think it shows they recognize our shared commitment to bringing unconventional and forward-thinking music to the community.
Today we celebrate the first single from Neo – a downtempo electronica / lofi / experimental joint called “broken”. These past few weeks, I’ve lost count of the hours I’ve spent quietly vibing, swaying like a slow wave to the track’s eerie groove. It reminded me of early Shlohmo and Flying Lotus, but with the right amount of Claptu & Beatmund Noise in the mix. Chilled, but engaging.
Stream on all platforms here and I promise you – there’s more greatness to come out soon!
