For her latest track “Carelessly Doomed”, Chanel Loren joins forces with Kota the Friend for a soothing blend of neo-soul, indie, and rap that’s both heartfelt and emotionally layered.

Drawing from her turbulent past, British-Caribbean artist Chanel Loren channels a wide spectrum of deep emotions, and this enables her to relate quite easily with her audience through her music. Her latest release “Carelessly Doomed” is a wonderful example of this as she dives into the experiences of hiding feelings of uncertainty behind a smiley exterior. This is delivered through a lively vocal performance shrouded by warm guitars and a slick rhythm section. Kota the Friend complements her touching themes with his smooth yet vulnerable verse towards the second half.

“Kota reached out to Chanel by DM after the pair toured together and, having heard a snippet of the new song, was eager to be involved. In the song she decides life is easier when you decide what will be, will be. “I didn’t realize how much perfectionism had me in a chokehold,” she says looking back.
