Anish Kumar’s latest track, “She Dances,” is a brilliant fusion of diverse influences and easily one of my top electronica discoveries this week.
Over the past 3 years, the UK-based musician, DJ, and producer Anish Kumar has cemented himself as a rising star as he infuses samples from South Asia into his garden-fresh brand of electronic music. “She Dances” is a colorful sonic mosaic comprised of ethnic plucks, flutes, and a bright vocal sample that breathes life into the track with its emotive charm. It honestly feels like downtempo you could play at the club by virtue of its upbeat and vibrant rhythm section. This is hands down my favorite release from Anish Kumar next to “Sadhana”.
