As you know, the UK artists have a tendency (and a knack) to blend neo-soul & electronic music in something that transcends genre definitions (and dimensions) – perhaps you remember TIANNA & Danny Chaska’s “Haze“.

A stellar example of how you can fuse smooth vocals with breakbeat drums comes from Birmingham producer Lotus & singer Hali Ray. In their new single “Call It What You Want”, her soulful vocals, with a vintage touch & a pinch of melancholy, glide on top of wobbly synth bass, 2-step beatwork & warm keys.
