Venna invites MIKE and Marco Bernardis to add their signature touch to his newest release, “Day x2,” a smooth intersection of hip hop, jazz, and soul music.
The South London native Venna is a Grammy-winning saxophonist, producer, and vocalist who reminds us a lot of Terrance Martin and Yussef Dayes. In a few months, he unveils his debut album, which boasts standout names like Jorja Smith, Smino, and the previously mentioned Yussef Dayes. “Day x2” marks the 3rd single from the album, and here, we’re welcomed to a dreamy listening experience adorned with woozy keys, punchy drums, and the wailing of the saxophone lingering in the background. The emotive instrumental is coupled with MIKE’s heartfelt verse, along with vocals that echo a sense of vulnerability and introspection, adding even more emotional depth to the track.
