March has been quite bipolar, with the weekend being 28 degrees and two days later – around zero, with snow. And this cosy gem comes right on time for the (hopefully short) winter comeback.
Delighted to share another new name for me – US singer & guitarist Shannon Lauren Callihan who’s been around since 2019, crafting & self-releasing soft, warm indie soul tunes. For St. Valentine’s, she brought a gorgeous single in collaboration with Massachusets singer Dan DeCristofaro called “One Night”.
Last week, she also dropped an alt version of it, called “One Night – Sunset Version”, together with another frequent collaborator – US producer/multi-instrumentalist wowflower, whom you might know from his collaborations with Kazuki Isogai.
The result of the creative chemistry of those three talents floats somewhere between jazz, soul, lofi beats, and r&b. It will send you to the most tranquil place, thanks to the wonderful vocals, smooth drum groove, playful basslines & guitars, and smooth brass.
Make sure to check the original, too – it’s a little groovier and just as gorgeous.
