Wakai’s Some People Scream, Some People Talk had a well-deserved front-row seat on our 100 Best Albums of 2023 article and I’m extremely happy to be able to feature new music from the talented Louisiana native.
Wakai joins producer Edward Watson for a beautifully sluggish jazzy rap delight called “2 WAY STREET”. The song sounds ethereal and utterly calm. There’s something about that instrumental that makes me feel comfortable and slows my vitals. The sonic equivalent of Melatonin. It goes without saying – Wakai’s flow and delivery lurk in between those beats in the most perfect way possible.
