With their latest project Boa Onda, NRMNT takes us on a journey that seamlessly oscillates between tranquil and nostalgic, and uplifting and groove-driven.
This time around, the Germany-based duo has put together a four-track EP that leans a bit more towards a chill brand of house, yet embellished with touches of jazz. The opener “Boa Onda” seamlessly hits the sweet spot between sun-soaked calmness and that easy-going dancefloor sway, setting the tone beautifully for the rest of the EP. Floating above the glistening pianos and punchy, lo-fi house-reminiscent drums are the cries of a trumpet that fills the mix with life thanks to its warm presence. This flows ever so gently into the next track, “Earth Pulse”, ultimately showcasing their ability to create projects that flow in such a cohesive manner continuously.
