Now this was quite a fascinating find! For this release, the duo Dana and Alden teamed up Ghais Guevara to deliver an out-of-this-world mixture of jazz and hip hop.
Oregan natives Dana and Alden possess a genre-agnostic approach to production that allows them to traverse through jazz, indie, pop, rap, funk, and more. What I loved about their collaboration with Ghais Guevara “Obsidian”, is that fact that it’s fierce, raw, yet also musically brilliant – especially since it progresses in a manner that’s packed with surprises. Ghais honors Dana and Alden’s production by unleashing a fury of flows that continuously shift in energy. This reminded me a lot of Mich Jenkins and is among my favorite rap discoveries lately.
